picture of roman goddess Regina, asda, South Shields

Roman history

This replica of the Roman godess Regina can be found in the corner of the Asda supermarket car park in South Shields. The original Roman artefact found near the site, is now housed in the Arbeia Roman Fort and Museum just a few hundred yards away.

Oh..... I thought regina was off big brother!

(joking of course)
It is amazing whet you can find in parking lots (a.k.a Car Parks). I use to live in Fairfax Virginia, and there is a monument to a Civil War battle in the parking lot median between a theater and some restaurants and a supermarket.
