Winter wonderland No. 1

picture of houses decorated for Christmas, Copley Avenue, South Shields

All ready for Christmas.

Last Christmas I ran a competition to find the best decorated house in South Tyneside, and I noticed that this recently imported American tradition has taken off in a BIG way here in England. I don't have the time to run such an effort this year but I will feature a few of the best that I see during the course of December.
These houses are in Copley Avenue, Whiteleas, South Shields and it's hard to decide whether this is a communal effort, or more a case of "keeping up with the Jones'es'". What do you think?

Belles illuminations de noel. avez vous aussi des concours de la maison la plus belles de noel ?

Beautiful Christmas lights. have also contests of the house most beautiful of Christmas?

I read an article recently that says people actually SAVE electricity decorating their houses like this. Incredible! But it seems they are very low on energy consumption - much less than normal lights, and people often turn OFF their high energy lights for many hours while theese are on!
